Yui-ga-hama is a horseshoe shaped beach that has relatively small tides. So it’s good for beginner surfers. But during summer (July 1 – August 31) surfing is not permitted in a daytime. The beach becomes the exclusive domain of passionate swimmers, and suntan lovers. Many beach houses, restaurants and bars also set up shop during the summer months. During other seasons, the beach is a quiet and relaxing place for locals. **This is the second of a 5-part series about the area between Kamakura and Enoshima along Route 134, where there are five beautiful shoreline spots, each with its own unique face.
