When I arrived in Tokyo I thought, well, Omotesando, just another shopping street... As I'm not such a dedicated shopper (apart from sports clothes maybe), it just didn't get much of my attention. However, I need to admit, that there is much more to it than shopping and drinking coffee. The architecture on this avenue is quite amazing, and don't forget to wander around the side streets, where the atmosphere changes completely and you will instantly forget that you are in one of the largest cities of the world.
Omotesando Architecture
Beyond window shopping

The new Tokyu Plaza, right on the corner of Omotesando and Meiji-dori, opened in April 2012. Apart from its incredible entrance covered with mirrors, don't miss the garden on the top floor, as it's at least as incredible as is the entrance.

On the opposite site of Omotesando there's this fancy convex shaped building, "hosting" Zara and the Gold's Gym on the upper floors.

Most people stick with their eyes to the shop windows; however, it's worth looking up, discovering the actual building from the outside.

Following Omotesando further, beyond Aoyama-dori, you'll find another architectural highlight of this area, the Prada house, built of nothing else but glass blocks.

You may have peak through, if you don't want to go inside; however, ...

... I also love the reflections of the passing traffic.

Next to Prada, you'll have Chloé and Cartier.

Right on the crossing of Omotesando and Aoyama-dori, the "architecture" of advertising boards is quite impressive, too. You can pass there three times a day and I swear you discover something new every time.

Cutie is cute indeed!
