Ryuonji Temple, Saitama

Located in rural Ogose City, Saitama, Ryuonji Temple is the ideal place to find some peace and tranquility. Set deep within a beautiful forest, this temple boasts several impressive structures including a large two story pagoda and a bright red colored gate.

Originally built in around 1429 by a local Shogun, Ryuonji had to be completely re-built by ‘Ooda Dokan’ in 1472 following a devastating fire, a fate which has plagued Ryuonji throughout its history.
