Lereng Gunung Aso menyambut musim gugur lebih awal dibandingkan dengan bagian lain di Kyushu. Sekitar Shirakawa Suigen, salah satu sumber air gunung Aso, pohon maple dan gingko berubah menjadi warna cemerlang melewati air jernih kristal. Penduduk setempat dan pengunjung sering datang mengunjungi untuk mengisi botol air dari beberapa keran yang terhubung dengan kolam. Salah satu tempat pemberhentian yang tenang, akan tetapi sangat layak, sebagai tur area Gunung Aso.
